Plan Summary

This summary explains important provisions of the UPS/IBT Full-Time Employee Pension Plan (Plan) and not all of the information on this web site may apply to you. More complete Plan information is found in the Plan documents, including the Summary Plan Description (SPD). All Plan benefits are subject to the terms of the official Plan documents which govern in case of any discrepancies between information presented here and the official Plan terms.

Pension Plan Coverage
The Plan provides certain benefits for full-time employees of United Parcel Service, Inc. (an Ohio corporation) who satisfy each of the following conditions:

You are covered for the purpose of pension benefits by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between United Parcel Service, Inc. (an Ohio corporation) and the Teamsters United Parcel Service National Negotiating Committee representing Local Unions affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters:
  • You are classified in a category of work that is designated under the CBA as eligible for the benefits described in the Plan
  • You have at least one Hour of Service in Covered Employment (as defined later in the SPD on or after January 1, 2008)
  • You are not currently covered by any other qualified defined benefit pension plan to which UPS makes contributions on your behalf and
  • You are not performing services on a contract basis, or under a leasing or temporary services arrangement.

The Plan also provides benefits for certain current and former employees of UPS who are no longer working in Covered Employment based on benefits earned under the Central States Pension Fund before 2008.
